If all you want to is your transaction history, this is a very dangerous way to get it. You are effectively performing an XSS attack against yourself.
If you cannot read and understand the code you are pasting then It is only a matter of time before you run code a malicious person has posted. You can get the last 18 months of transaction history in one file by clicking on accounts and then download account activity:. I think practically though, given the technical nature of what's required, most folks who would do this are developers themselves and can see the few lines of code they are pasting in and verify it's not doing anything suspicious.
And yea as some folks have pointed out, the 'download account activity' item didn't used to exist, and also it's limited last I checked, I think to just 18 months. You're right though: Everyone using this code or anything like it should inspect it and understand what it's doing before just typing it in.
It would be wonderful if they made this obsolete. It's kind of ironic one of the most popular pieces of code I ever wrote is still this script : Wells Fargo could fix this so easily, but it's been close to 5 years now. Big thanks for doing this, saved me a TON of effort. Any chance we could get something like this for downloading check images? If they start thinking running random code in the console is the way to fix problems they are going to wind up running malicious code someone else has posted.
A lot of people worked together and shared ideas to make it happen. There is nothing more disappointing than think you're doing a good deed and having somebody slap you in the face.
I am grateful for the work you and the others in this gist did. After reviewing the code and making sure I understood what it was doing, I even made use of it. But if a person can't review the code, they should not take a stranger's word that it is safe. Gist comments can also be edited by the user, so if your Github account were hacked, an attacker could change the code to be malicious or an attacker could just add a new comment saying they had a better version.
Would love to get this to work. The script at the top of the page talks about an update, but there is no code there, just a blank space in the text file. How can i get the update? I need to download a LOT of statements going back 7 years on 4 accounts.

I followed the directions. So when do I click that link? I've tried clicking it on an empty page, on my WF account page, and on the statements WF page.
But nothing happens. I tried various combinations of shift, control alt and clicking.. I chose the year. Then I clicked my shortcut, nothing happened. What steps are supposed to work, because the docs didn't say to first select a year. Maybe there is something else i'm not doing?
