Automator mac created a action to download files

A very useful action if your workflow requires a hidden scratch folder in which to process items. NOTE : the temp folder, and its contents, are automatically deleted after the workflow has completed. The Create NetRestore Disk enables you to use a network boot image. Optionally, add the action to an Automator service workflow in the Finder, and you can re-use existing network boot images without the network. Download the action file double-click to install. Download example Automator workflow files This action will wait for files of indicated types to finish being copied into their containing folder.

Place this action at the beginning of a workflow that will be saved as a Folder Actions plugin, or after an action that copies files from servers or mounted volumes. The result of this action is a list of file references to the items passed from the previous action or Folder Action. Instead, the workflow skips over your action and proceeds on to the next. Provide a conversion action when one of your actions produces nonstandard output.

Most actions accept and produce common types of information, such as files, images, PDFs, and text. Automator tries to ensure compatibility between actions by performing automatic data conversions whenever possible. For example, when one action outputs files and the next inputs text, Automator automatically converts the files to text-based file paths so the workflow can proceed without fail.

Sometimes, an action must gather data to populate its interface. For example, the Get New Mail action gets a list of email accounts and displays them in a pop-up button. If it takes more than a second or two to gather necessary information, your action should show a progress indicator so the user knows that data is loading. See Progress Indicators. Provide a clear action title.

Action titles should be short verb phrases that use title-style capitalization. Create action titles that have between two and five words. Include your app name if it adds context. Provide sufficient descriptive information about an action. Automator includes a description area that shows detailed information about a selected action. People often use this area to learn about an action and decide whether to include it in a workflow.

Each action should provide a detailed description consisting of one or more sentences that clearly describe the purpose of the action. In addition, each action should detail its input and result types, requirements, options, notes, warnings, related actions, version, and copyright information. This action imports a chosen image into the movie files. The overlay images can be postioned at the top left, center, and right, bottom left, center, and right, and the center of the movie.

This action uses the QuickTime Player application to export an "iPod-ready" version of the movie files passed from the previous action. The name of an exported file is based on the name of its source file. This action requires QuickTime Pro 7. Options exist for exporting the files to the same directory as the source files and for replacing any existing files with the same name.

Additionally, source files can be deleted after export. The safest way to repeat a workflow is to use an AppleScript. The Automator Loop Utility will convert workflow files to workflow applets that repeat their workflow at indicated intervals. Simply drag workflow files onto the droplet and choose the loop duration and location for the new applets.

This action will save images, attached to Mail messsages passed from the previous action, to a chosen folder. Requires Mail 2. This "invisible" conversion action fixes an issue with Automator 1. This action will make a copy of each of the Finder items passed from the previous action into the same folder as the original item.

Connect to iChat - This action will attempt to connect to the iChat network. If the connection is not made after 60 seconds, the action will post an timeout error. Note: This action is commonly preceded by the Launch Application action set to open iChat.

Initiate Chat - This action will attempt to begin a chat session with an indicated iChat account. Set iChat Status - This action will attempt to change iChat's status. It will wait up to seconds for the status to change. This action creates a new outgoing Mail message that accepts references to disk items, a text string, or a list of text strings, as optional input.

This action will create a new folder in the indicated location. The folder will be named using the chosen date formatting and any optional name. If the Action Input Control is set for Use Results from Previous Action, then any disk items passed from the previous action will be copied or moved into the newly created folder. This action version 1. NOTE : Some exisiting terms in the iPhoto 6 scripting terminology were changed from what they were in iPhoto 5, causing Automator's Import Photos into iPhoto action to no longer work properly.

If you have iPhoto 6 installed, use this action instead of the default action in Automator. This application will install updated versions of the Export Images and Choose Albums actions included with the Aperture 1. Also included with the installer are two actions to replace existing Apple actions: Import Items into iPhoto to replace the Import Photos into iPhoto action which no longer works with iLife 06, and Create Dated Folder to replace the New Dated Folder action included with the Aperture 1.

This application will install an updated version of the Set Movie Annotations action that ships with Tiger. The updated version addresses changes in the QuickTime 7.

Accepts movie files as input. This action will cause the Photo Booth application to take a picture. Requires GUI scripting be activated. This action will return an alias reference to the chosen special folder, such as Sites folder, Shared folder, Pictures folder, etc. This application will create a new rule in Mail that scans messages from a specified sender and passes any image attachments to a specified Automator workflow applet for processing.
